About Artist

Francis Reynolds

Francis Reynolds is a British Artist who lives and works in Cambridgeshire, England. He returned to education as a mature student in 2007 to study Fine Art. Reynolds graduated with a Fine Art BA at Loughborough University in 2012. Since graduating, Francis started a family yet still achieves regular exhibitions nationally together with instructing Art students at a local academy. His paintings are held in Private collections throughout the UK and internationally. Reynolds’ practice can be seen to be quite destructive in as far as process. However, it can be said that the passive/ aggressive nature of the paintings lends themselves to the very nature of the human condition. Reynolds’ outcomes strive to question and reinvigorate the subject; its historical and contemporary context. Together with consolidating ideas of deconstruction; an act of taking apart and rebuilding. This may also highlight the deconstruction of conventions and what is expected from representational painting. The body of work can be seen to emphasise process by exaggerating the application and meticulous methodology through thin layers of paint and blocks of colour. This functions as a way of viewing what was there from past layers, and where decisions in the reconstruction of form were made

The Years that Pass By

Time passes by so quickly, that it inspires Carlos Morales to freeze a moment through his art. He paints a scene from the city of Lima, with its ageless domes and bell towers in the distance. In the foreground, what once was a brand new, coveted car, now it's reduced to scrap, with chains keeping the doors together and bricks where tires used to be. "Humans share the same destiny," observes the Peruvian artist. He paints with watercolors, carefully detailing twisted metal and shiny church cupolas.

Titled "Los años que se van" in Spanish.

Painting: Acrylic, Ink, Digital, Paint and Color on Canvas.

When I am walking around outside in the nature, by investigating my path and my creativity, there is suddenly a spark that catches my eyes, that I can reflect to its shapes, texture, and to its colors. And this starts a creative process in me.
Then I will search for a female figure with a unique look with some of mysterious, which can be best for me to draw and to paint.
After that I will use some digital painting programs in order to draw and sketch and to integrate the nature elements, texture and the colors that all together reflect out of this process.
After the digital process I print the digital artwork on canvas, and then start a process that is more traditional, by using brushes with acrylic, ink, graphite, color pencil, aerosol paints, and whatever that is necessary for the final result. Then put an over varnish laqa to protect as necessary.
My art is integrating the beauties of the nature with a mysterious femininity that wraps it.
